The NAU Nano Initiative
at Northern Arizona
University
A statewide effort to advance microelectronics research, build a world-class semiconductor workforce, and partner with industry. At its core sits the MPaCT Lab, a $13 million shared-use research facility with 35+ instruments, advanced fabrication and characterization capabilities, and expert staff open to universities, companies, and government agencies nationwide.
Powering Arizona's
High-Tech Future
NAU's Microelectronics Processing and Characterization Testing Lab (MPaCT) is Northern Arizona's open-access hub for microelectronics processing, characterization, and workforce innovation.
As a central pillar of Arizona's emerging semiconductor corridor, we provide state-of-the-art metrology, lithography, deposition, and characterization tools. Our mission is to cultivate a transdisciplinary ecosystem where students, faculty, and industry partners collaborate to push the boundaries of materials science and device engineering.
